Ice Skating, FREE LESSONS

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

High School Senior, Lucas Nickerson has graciously volunteered to hold skating lessons in February for a small group of 4th-8th graders.  This is part of his IB Full Diploma requirement for Graduation.

Lucas' experience comes with 13 years on skates and his passion for both skating and children.  He is a staff member for our Summer Camp program and has participated in our activities for years.

While Lucas is donating his time to helping this small group learn some skills to use on the ice, he is accepting donations on behalf of the Recreation Department for future ice rink events.  (There will be a staff on duty who would gladly accept the donation. Thank you in advance.)

Lucas says: "We'll be covering many of the basics of skating: stopping, starting, turning and balance, in a much more fun fashion than the usual lessons! Things like games and races will highlight these lessons which will surely get you on your way with your ice skating skills."

Please note- these lessons are for those who have HOCKEY skates only (sorry... figure skating is a whole different thing!)

Lesson Dates:
Saturday, February 28
SATURDAY, MARCH 7 ADDED DUE TO CANCELLATIONS
